Girl Meets Ghost
The harder the fall
Genre: supernatural, reality, spooky
Age/Gender recommendation: 11-14 girls
Author: Lauren Barnholdt
Book Review by C.Ha
Rating: 4-5
Have you ever met a ghost?
Well, Kendall Williams has!
Kendall Williams talks to dead people all the time. Like it or not, it's kind of her thing - the ghosts need her help resolving issues from when they were alive, and she's good at figuring out their problems. What she can't figure out, is why her crush Brandon’s mother keeps popping up at the most unexpected times! She seems so angry at Kendall, as if not wanting her to keep dating here son! This book is a wonderful story of boyfriends, ghosts, BFFs, family troubles and apples (Yes believe it or not, apples play a huge part in this story! J). I rated this book 4-5 because I think that it is a great read but I would rather a book to start and finish, then kind of leave you hanging on for the next book. Although, it is a good book otherwise with thrills, challenges and utter humiliations!
I would recommend this book to girls of the age of 11-14, who will love this spooky book and will want to read more and more! They will love this book because it is funny, thrilling and in some ways, cringe-worthy! You will laugh at Kendall’s utter humiliations, gasp at the ghosts who haunt her life and be puzzled at the mysteries she has to solve!

Book: Dear Dumb Diary #8 It’s Not
My Fault I Know Everything.
Author: Jim Benton
Review by: C.McC.
Do you love a book that you can actually finish reading and not get bored half way through? Well this is the book for you! This is a great fiction book that suits girls aged 10-14. This book is great for young girls because for many it is relatable, the perfect size: not too long or too short and has a fantastic twist at the end.
There are three main characters, Jamie, Isabella and Angeline. Jamie and Isabella are best friends. Does Angeline come between them and ruin everything or do they all become the best of friends?
Jamie’s dog Stinker and Angeline’s dog Sticky Buns have puppies; does this make them closer? Angeline asks Jamie to go to her house and help name the puppies but is this just an excuse? They have an assignment, to write anonymous diary entries for one big diary of the year level. Jamie is in charge of typing up the diary entries and asks for Isabella’s help. Isabella reads Angeline’s diary but it isn’t Angeline’s assignment… it’s her REAL diary. What does it say?
This is a fantastic book for young girls aged from 10-14 who love a good book that you can’t lose interest in. It is about friends and relationships with a touch of humour. Have fun reading!

Book: Dear Dumb Diary #12 Me (Just Like You, Only Better)
Author: Jim Benton
Review by: J.D.
Jamie Kelly, a young and cheeky girl that wants fame, popularity and everything else that comes with it. But she’s stuck in school and not getting any closer to it.
I recommend this book to 8-13 year olds. There is a whole series of Dear Dumb Diary books that you can read! It is a fiction book and is in the set out of a diary of a young girl.
Jamie Kelly loves a band called FAATALD and she’s not afraid to show it to her whole school! Only one problem occurs there is a school project pops up and everyone decides to do their project on FAATALD as well! Jamie comes up with a fantastic plan to trick everyone into thinking she likes someone else but it’s all just a trick. But her plan backfires…
The whole Dear Dumb Diary book series are easy to read. There are very few hard words written down in this book but each chapter is still as exciting as the last. There are both interesting and humorous illustrations to enjoy.
Jim Benton is a talented American illustrator and author. He has written and illustrated many books each with its own unique story. Dear Dumb Diary has continued on to a year 2 series. Both series’ are interesting and unique.
I recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a book that is less extreme.

Wow, story’s are great aren’t they, well some are. I have a great
book that will excite anyone who reads it. If you are into fiction books and
between the ages of 10 and 15 this is the book for
you.
This is a book about a girl called Eloise she had to move houses
with her father. Now if you have read the book orchard road you will see the
connection between the two books.
She arrived at the house, it was very scary and dark with vines threw the windows and creepy pathways. Eloise’s dad was so excited to move with his daughter but Eloise didn’t feel the same way. When they settled in they went to see their Grandma the one who sold the house to Eloise and her father. So off they went and they arrived at the Mo the grandma’s house now Mo was very confident a bit rude but comfortable to be around, confusing I know well they sat down to have a drink and all Mo could say about Eloise was she is a shy little girl but Eloise was not a shy little girl once she settled in, Eloise loved to draw things that she could relate to.
So what will happen next will Eloise find a new best friend or will she be alone with no friends. Start reading to find
out!

Camille and Madeline
Written by Countess de Segur
Book review by C.B
'A much loved French classic can now be enjoyed in English’
Have you ever wished that you were perfect and never made
mistakes? How about reading this book! It is the second novel in the Fleurville
Trilogy and suitable for girls ranged 9-15. It is a sweet book and you just
can’t put it down!
Well, this is a tale of two perfect little girls living with
their mother in a château in Paris. They are always so kind and never tell on
each other, but when their friend Sophie is around, who knows what will happen!
Sophie’s stepmother is incredibly mean to Sophie which encourages her to be bad
behaved, until she suggests that Sophie goes to live with Madame de
Fleurville...
I think that Countess de Segur (the author) did a great job in
writing this sweet book with fantastic illustrations.
What will happen to Sophie? Will her Stepmother leave her
forever? Will Camille and Madeline stay perfect little girls? Start reading and
find out!

Book Review By T.C
What is a good book or is there one?
This is a book about a young girl named Jane, in her life she has had her doubts but sometimes friendship can bloom in the most unexpected times.
Jane had to move away from her family and Melbourne to be with her father because her younger sister Sylvia is very sick. The day they moved was very hard for Jane as she has not been away from her mother..... Her first day of school was a disaster nothing went right and then it got much worse” THE MOUSE INCIDENT. There was a guy called Darren and he was hurting a little mouse so Jane went up and held the mouse so she could put it in a suitable place for it to survive. After a while Jane made her first friend Maria they were really good friends. Jane’s father brought her a bike. After school, Jane went on a ride to see how the bike was. On her ride she fell off her bike right in front of Miss Harrison’s house and this guy called Mitchell stopped to help Jane. He introduced himself and he went around to all the houses to ask for help but he did not visit Miss Harrison’s house. Then Jane called out, “What about that house?” pointing to Miss Harrison’s house. So Mitchell went up the creepy old pathway to knock on the door when an old lady
attacked Mitchell. Jane yelled out, “Stop, don’t hurt him,” then the old lady let him go. She said “What do you want?” Mitchell said, “This girl hurt her leg.”
I try to ask myself why the old lady hurt Mitchell and do Mitchell, Miss Harrison and Jane become friends?

“If I Stay”
Book by; Gayle Forman
Book review by; D.B.
"If I Stay” is about a girl, called Mia, who goes for a drive with her family on a cold February Morning… on a snowy road… and suddenly all of Mia’s choices are gone… except one. Mia has to make the most difficult choice of all time, is she going to live or die? This book is recommended for girls 15 to 23, it has lots of hard to understand language and sentences. The Daily Mail said “read it and weep”. “If I Stay” is now a Major Movie. The book is very interesting so go buy it and read it NOW! The book has 10 characters; Mia; Teddy, her brother; Mom; Dad; Gran; Gramps; Adam, her boyfriend; Kim; Brooke Vega; and the nurses. It has a really bad ending so you will need to read the sequel to if I stay which is “Where She Went” also by Gayle Forman.
Mia wakes up and she goes with her family for a drive which never really wanted to go one. All of a sudden they slip and crash and Mia sees her body in a ditch. What will happen now? What choices does Mia have? Read this book to find out.....

"Let it Snow - The Jubilee Express"
By Maureen Johnson
Book Review by E.C.
Do you ever feel happy once you start reading a book and you actually finish it without getting bored before getting half way through it? Well I read the book let it snow. It has three different books in it that all tie together, I read The Jubilee Express by Maureen Johnson. The book is really good; it’s intriguing because after reading the first page I wanted to keep on reading.
This book is for young adults. It’s a romance book that can bring a tear to your eye. The book can be sad, cute and mysterious because at times there are parts that are sad, parts that are lovey and mysterious because you can read a paragraph in the book and the next paragraph something happens and your intrigued to read it.
In the book Jubilee is forced to go to Grace town to stay with her Grandparents because her parents are in jail for being in a riot. She took a train to Grace town and her train crashed and she went to a café nearby. She met a guy and he offered to take her to his house to keep warm until her train could move again. She went with the guy his name was Stuart and on the way to his house they had a rough adventure. Will they make it to Stuart’s house? Will they fall in love on the way to Stuart’s house?

A Charmed Life
By Jenny B. Jones
Book Review by F.R
Have you ever had to move somewhere away from family, friends and your favourite shopping mall? A Charmed life is a Christian story that includes mystery, shopping, romance and heart-break. It includes three novels; so not happening, I’m so sure and so over my head. It is appropriate for confident reading 11 year olds-Adult. It is definitely a girl’s must-read.
Bella, a sixteen-year old shopaholic, enjoys her life in New York City. She has great friends, a wonderful boyfriend and her daddy’s credit card. But then her mum marries Jake, a factory worker who lives on a farm out in Oklahoma. Bella is forced to move there with him and his two sons. But Bella finds something fishy about Jake. Is he really who he says he is?
In this book it includes three mysteries, one in each novel and all of them put Bella’s life in jeopardy. Who is out to get her?
Jenny B. Jones did a fantastic job by writing ‘A Charmed Life’. She made it interesting, mysterious and something that would apply to every teenage girl’s life. A Charmed Life has to be my absolute favourite book.
Bella is not really enjoying her time at her new school and then she makes a horrible mistake. Will anyone forgive her? And where is God in the midst of this?

Have you ever Read Black beauty because if you haven’t, you’re going to have the fright of your life.
Farmer Gray was Black beauty’s first owner. Beauty saw other colts and saw that they were nipping and biting each other. Black Beauty’s Mum told him off about doing that, and that u should never do it its bad behaviour. When black beauty was old enough he was going to get a home he got sold to Squire Gordon. When he got in the stables he saw a fat, grey Pony with a thick man tail, and a pretty nose.
The Pony’s name is Merrylegs and next to me was a Bay horse highly tempered; Merrylegs said that her name was Ginger. Merrylegs explained everything that happens around the house and the stables, the Squire never uses a whip, as long as the horses behave. When the people put Beauty in the meadow he saw Ginger under the tree and went up to her. When he came up to Ginger, she started to talk about her old owner when she was just a young colt and saying how she is now careful who takes care of her. She said when she moved here everything changed her life.
After that Beauty saw Merrylegs getting ridden by 2 little girls and they were being really rude so Merrylegs taught them a lesson she he knocked them off. Beauty was confused so he went up to him and asked him why he did it so merry legs explained. Beauty’s owners wife was getting sick and had to move to a wormer place, so all the horses had to get sold Joe the stable boy took Merrylegs and john gave Ginger and Beauty to Lord White the Squires friend. Ginger and Beauty became carriage horses. And were treated cruelty, Ginger was getting angry and went off she was kicking, biting, and knocking she couldn’t handle it anymore. Ginger got sold and so did Beauty, Beauty looked old and out of shape Joe was looking for a horse and saw Beauty he was so excited to see Joe again. Joe took Beauty home and Ginger and Merrylegs were there they were all back together.
About a Horse who has a lovely life but everything changes and he goes through all these challenges to go through life.
