Diary of a Wimpy Kid
by Jeff Kinney
Book Review by E.H.
Have you ever wondered? What it’s like to be a cartoon well this book is definitely for you. When being different is an easy thing to do for a wimpy kid. This is a fiction book it is a good book for primary school ages approximately reception to year 5. It is a funny and different book I really enjoy all their books.
Diary of a wimpy kid is about a boy called Greg Heffly he spends all day inside playing video games in the dark while his mum is trying to make him go outside and play. The only reason he ever goes outside is to go to the country club with his friend Rowley But one day Rowley and Greg find out that they have to pay a $83 bill for all the fruit smoothies they had at the country club so now they have to find a way to pay the bill they came up with the idea to start a lawn care service so that they get payed for mowing peoples lawn but that idea doesn’t really work so Greg goes to his little brother looking for some money eventually his little brother gives in and now Greg can pay the bill now he spends the rest of the summer at the local swimming pool looking after Manny his little brother.
I think this a really good series and I now want to buy all the books I also think this is a great book for learning new words and I think the pictures really help kids to understand what they are trying to say and the context is great. I would definitely read any of these books again I really love the way they write the book as a diary and there are some jokes in this book that made me laugh. I have only read three of these books and I already like them.
I think anyone could read this book but I think it is aimed at junior primary kids. So stop reading this book review and start reading one of Jeff Kinney’s amazing books.

Its summer holidays for Greg his parents keep on telling him to go and play outside but all he wants to do is stay inside and pay video games. His best friend Rowley is a part of the country club. The country club gets much nicer things like the pool and parks than the local pool. Rowley invited Greg to the country club. They loved it so much that Greg and Rowley they used Mr Jefferson country club credit card they bought $80 dollars on drinks. Rowley’s Dad found and made Greg pay for let $80 spent on drinks. Greg got a job from an old lady that lived down the street. He had to use his grandma’s lawn mower they did not know how to start it after 1 hour then realised how to start it. So they got on with the job but Greg decided that he would do a circle around the dog droppings after they had finished Greg when and asked for the money but the old lady would not pay them and would not drop them home. They had to walk home and when they got home Greg’s Dad had to go around to the old lady’s house and do the mowing again.
It was a good book to read I rate it 5 stars and can’t wait to read more of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw
Author: Jeff Kinney
Book Review by: K.S.
This is Jeff Kinney’s third novel of the New York Times bestseller Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This book is about a guy named Greg Heffley who’s Dad is threatening him to go to military school if he doesn’t pick up his game. The main bit is Greg having to become a boy scout because it’s a family tradition and his mum thought he would look cute in a uniform. It is the Easter holidays and Manny brought his chocolate Easter bunny on the drive to church and it melted all over his jeans so he has to wear a sweater tied up instead of pants to church. During bingo Greg kept on yelling BINGO when it’s not bingo. At Rowley’s birthday party Greg was the only kid there who didn’t do karate and they played dumb party games, like blind man’s bluff. Greg tried out for soccer as a goalie but instead of being a goalie he was blowing tulips. Greg goes to a lot of trouble to find who was stealing the sweets. He hid in the washing basket then finds out it was his dad who was eating them all along.
The Last Straw was a book that I enjoyed and I would recommend it for ages 10 and above.

Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty
Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space
By Dav Pilkey
Book Review by C.B
‘He defeated the diabolical Dr. Diaper... He terminated the terrible
talking toilets... Now he is in for the fight of his life.’
Have you ever been to a school where aliens try to take over? Captain Underpants #3 is a story suitable for anyone ranged 7-12 years. It is a humorous book with a ‘round the bend’twist.
It all starts with George and Harold (aged 9) and their principal who does not like them at all. George and Harold are cheeky students and like playing tricks on the school cafeteria ladies. Eventually, they find themselves inside the principal’s office eating their lunch under his watch only to find that evil aliens from space have come as disguised cafeteria ladies and plan to turn every student into a zombie nerd!
I think that Dav Pilkey (the author) did a great job in writing this adventurous novel. What will happen next? Will Captain Underpants save the day? Will the world get destroyed? Start reading now!!!

Are you a person that likes a laugh once in a while? If this is you this is the book for you. This book is suited ages 7-14. It is a book suited mostly for boys and the book has a few epic comics as well so read this epic awesome book!
The story begins with a mad scientist named professor Poopypants. He creates two inventions. One that shrinks and the other to enlarge things. He tries to show it to the world but everyone doesn’t care about the invention and just laughs at his name. He goes to a school to work as a science teacher to show the students his inventions and then spread it through the world. It doesn’t work really well and the whole school starts laughing at his name. He couldn’t take it anymore and gets mad and creates a giant robot. He forces everyone in the world to have silly name%"0so no one laughs at his name anymore. Luckily there is a hero in this book. Captain Underpants! He’s faster than a speeding waistband, able to leap over tall buildings without getting a wedgie and more powerful than boxing shorts. The epic fight starts in the middle of the town and the epic brawl begins, good vs evil.

Cat Boy
Written by Clara Vulliamy
Book review by C.GR
Do you like Cats? If you do then this book is just for you! I recommend that children from age 5-10 read this book as it is not very long or complicated.
The story is about a boy, his cute cat and the love the boy has for the cat. The book follows a boy and his cat through a typical day of the boy’s life........
My opinion of the book was the book was very colourful and had a mixture of big words and little words. It was quite entertaining to read because everywhere the boy went, the cat came to him and the cat was having fun with the boy and sometimes causing mischief.
The person who wrote the book is a skilled expert and very talented. I encourage many more readers to pick up this book and get started reading it!
